In response to "Dave's" post in April. This is the first time I've visited the site. I've played on stage with BS (Run To The Hills) for a charity for the Station Nightclub fire bennifit, and it was a kick ass show. If you think that people our age still playing in bands (cover, tribute) are testosterone fulled misfits, then maybe you should take a look at just what your saying in the first place. "METAL", Is the artform of the "Instruments"! Can you name any one of these bands out there now, that know even what a C chord is?? It takes alot and I mean alot of work to play Priest, Maiden etc. note for note, look etc like them. Many hours of painstaking practice to develpe the bands sound and look. It's no joke (I know). I have to much respect for metal heads and rockers alike to get up there and sound like todays crap. ANYONE can play in a cover band and screw up tunes. But, not anyone can portray a band to the fullest, and British Steel definately does that. So, got put on some Neil Diamond albums and get on with your boring life. Thanks BS for the great tunes and hope to be on stage with you guys again soon!! Dave (Dave Murray; run to the hills, iron maiden tribute)

The gods made heavy metal and they saw that is was good They said to play it louder than Hell We promised that we would When losers say it's over with you know that it's a lie The gods made heavy metal and it's never gonna die We are the true believers It's our turn to show the world In the fire of heavy metal we were burned It's more than our religion it's the only way to live But the enemies of metal we can't forgive Kill all those who stand against you look into their eyes Drink their blood and laugh as they pay for all their lies Piss upon their graves then cast a final spell Fly into the night and one day meet in Hell

I recently visited the Dokken web site and read a article from Don Dokken regarding the Guest Book. Read on:Don Dokken wrote>>"If I can trust people to be responsible on the message board I will reopen it soon. If people don't have anything good to say they shouldn't say anything. A lot of groups don't allow a message board for that simple reason, You don't have to talk about Dokken; it's about rock and roll, your experiences at concerts meeting groups and so on. I hope it works out this time, it's a shame a few people screw it up for everyone else."<<< Hint Hint....

Randy & Lisa, Ya got me! If I came off as arrogant or self-serving- My apologies. I also shouldn't have thrown around shots either, since it was just what I was bitching about. Bottom line stays the same, "Gods Work"(or any other label you wanna give it )or not- We have too few metal bands in this area as it is, and for people to start goin' at each other about 2 bands that have the same basic goals isn't cool. Metal is supposed to be fun and bring similar people together, isn't it? And Steve- Just because I said I wasn't a fan of Priest doesn't mean I hate them either. I am all for what British Steel is doing in the Albany area. I don't have to totally love something to appreciate where its heart is at...........

Glens Falls, USA - Monday, April 05, 2004 at 13:00:49 (PDT)
Dave, For someone who doesn't and never will be a Priest fan, then why would stop by British Steel and write such GODS WORK material in a Priest web site, to poke fun of people ? Why ?So far you made it clear that you don't and never will like Priest, so this doesn't hold much weight in the Carefully written post you wrote.
Randy

Dave From Glens Falls,,,,When I first started to read your post I was kinda impressed, then as you got to your 30th silable, I got turned off. I guess you think using very carefully selected "BIG" words to poke fun of people, was suppose to be impressive.Actually I lost what you where saying, because you spent so much time trying to do "Gods Work" and save the Metal Country.

When I first stopped in here a couple of weeks ago, my purpose was solely to support my good friend Joe P. (Enertia, ex-Bloodstone), as he and the rest of Bloodstone were being bashed and threatened (mistake or not) for the actions of one man. Since that time, I've hoped that the juvenile situation would run it course, but I see upon my second visit that it hasn't. I'm not really surprised either. Up-front and for-the-record- With the exception of the classic "Sad Wings" album, I'm not a Priest fan; never was and never will be. Now, before all of you once again get sidetracked and/or puffed all up, read on. What I think of J.P. is not the issue here. It's only a pointer to my objectivity. I acknowledge and respect what they have meant to the history of metal, and their fans deserve the same. What really concerns me is what all of you "adults" are making the metal community look like. I have been a dedicated member of the traditional/old-school metal movement for almost 22 years now, and what all of you are doing here is LAME beyond belief in so many aspects. Unless you are still in high school and haven't yet learned how to manage your hormones, there's no excuse for this kind of behavior. Music is art, and subsequently, art is always subjective. We all have differnt opinions and none is more important or more "right" than another. It's a good thing when people get together in the right forum and open-mindedly/intelligently discuss their differing views. This isn't the place. This board is for fans and friends to stop by and say hi, "Great show", etc. , and nothing more. This said- Who is ultimately going to care if one glorified cover band (and that is ALL tribute bands are) looks or sounds more "real" to you than another? Nobody, that's who. And- Are overgrown sperm-stains like the mentally and grammatically-challenged "Octane" really "fans" or the kind of people ANYBODY would want covering their back? No way. With supposed "support" like his, any band will find its vailidity and appeal rapidly slipping away. Wake up people! It's dumb enough as it is to get overly-inflamed about an ORIGINAL band. How moronic is it then to fight over cover bands? If you don't know by now, well....... People have long thought metalheads are nothing more than testosterone-addled cretins, and right now you're making a damn fine case for them. Get your shit together and put everything back in its proper perspective. Support the bands and scene(s), and do it with some pride, class, and tact! Stop pissing all over what you claim to love, and more importantly, stop dragging the rest of us (including British Steel) down with you. It sadly bears repeating again- After all, it's only music.........

Lemme first start off as to say....WOW....what a ride eh! We ( the other former members of Bloodstone) have been keeping tabs on what's been going on in here from the start with jeff's derrogitory remarks. It's unfortunate... to say the least. It was a dumb thing to do and he admits it. He was pissed off, made the comments, and now regrets it i assure you of that. On another note, Richie, Joe and I have left the band and the March 27th Bloodstone gig has been cancelled. The band toiled over this situation and finally came to that conclusion. It's a shame though, It was one last chance for Richie , Joe, and I to play together...something we've enjoyed and was the sole reason for this one time deal. We had a good time together, we all have other projects going on and this is was what it was and that is that. British Steel...keep on rockin! We wish you the best or atleast i do. I'm out! Take care, peace love and all the other happy horseshit. l8ter

This is what it has come to, Mike Smith makes a nice Tribute web page and the evilness of people who post in the guest book is horrific. Any of you who listen to Judas Priest and tribute Priest have to be old enough, and you post childness behavior in guess book. Its a shame!!!!!! Maybe this is why the new generation kids make fun of the 80's...Because we never grow up!!! And it shows, from reading the post in this guess book. You men need to really think about it.. What is this world coming too. SAD!!!

This is pretty much to Steve, Yes I know that B.S is really for British Steel, but I was trying not to be overly rude and writing the name straight out. It would have looked more ridiculous if I just wrote B. As far as the guys not entertaining the crowd...what were you smoking? I was at the benefit myself, and they put on an awesome show! In regards to anyone threatening someone, I agree. It is only music, no reason to start shit. My issue is with Jeff writing crap on this site, which he has appologized and that should be the end of it. At this point, what should really happen is the two bands getting together for one big kick ass Priest show!! All the guys in each band are awesome musicians, and love Priest. Thats what everyone should really look at, not this fighting bullshit. Also, what do you mean a far cry from Brett Michaels? He's been complimented more times than I can count for being able to nail everything from Geoff Tate to Tony Harnell and everyother screamer out there!!!! Anyway, good luck to both bands!!

i will start by saying that this IS all my fault and I know it. so, i would like to take the time to personally apologize to anyone that i have offended. I was in a tight bind and my fuse was short, so i blew up here and i am sorry about that. Chris Jacobsen wrote me an email after i made the initial post and i apologized to him. i have no fuckin clue why anyone would sit and threaten Joe Paciolla, since he has NOTHING to do with this and if anyone wants to embarass, try me. i will apologize for what i have done, but i will say whoever the idiot is that put the post up about Joe, PLEASE introduce yourself to me Saturday night at Valenti's jeff ps..and again to all the members of British Steel, I AM sorry.

You people are taking this whole Bloodstone/British Steel matter a just a bit too far- Don't you think? The only posts I see here (in regards to this juvenile matter) with any actual class and clear thinking have been from British Steel. I am very good friends with Joe from Bloodstone and I don't at all appreciate insults and threats being thrown his way for something he has NOTHING to do with. Anyone that truly knows Joe also knows he is a very friendly, laid-back, non-judgmental guy, and musically speaking, he has much bigger irons-in-the-fire than either of these tribute bands. I don't know Jeff, or need to, to see he is the LONE culprit here, so put blame ONLY where it is due. The people here bustin' veins in their foreheads over 2 cover bands REALLY need more fufillment in their lives. It's only music after all..........

Actually if you got your own web site you could post on there......but web site means money and cause you aint got no gigs that leaves you even more short changed. First off, let me just say that you guys have rocked every show i've seen!! I dont quite understand why others feel they have to TRY to compete, but you have to figure that if they are posting so much on your sight, they must realize that more people check you out than a cheap rip off!! As far as some stupid movie, WHO CARES!! If the producers had seen you guys, I dont think the other band would have even been considered! "Ultimate tribute"...Please, when is the last time priest wore jeans and a flanel? Jealousy is petty, you guys do it for the right reason..to have fun! On another note, at least you have the guts to keep ALL postings on your site, I checked out B.S.'s Site a few times...there were some negative posts that suddenly disappeared!! Wonder what happened? As far as British Steel goes, keep kickin ass!! And all fear the PAINKILLER!!!!!

I want to apologize for the comments written on the guestbook by the singer from another tribute band who constantly advertises his band on the British Steel site. In the 4 years that the band has played shows, we have appreciated every audience we have played for, be it 20 people or 1000 people. We think its wonderful that people still love Judas Priest music in 2004 and have had fun at our shows. While it is nice to make some money from our shows, everybody in the band works full time and we do British Steel for the fun of it and for benefits like The Station Family Fund. The guestbook was set up for fans of Judas Priest and friends of British Steel. If it starts to turn into an insult forum then we will take down the guestbook or make a FRIENDS page. Again, I apologize for anyone offended by the comments that have appeared here lately. Hope to see you at a British Steel or Ozzfest show real soon.

Hi Guys, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your Friday 13th show with Unforgiven. I always love going to a British Steel show because I have always been a huge Judas Priest fan and you guys do an excellent job. One thing though, one Judas Priest song that is my absolute favorite that you never do is Blood Red Skies off their 1988 Ram It Down album. I would be so very greatful if you could please do this song at your next show, which I will be at. Thanks alot......Val
